Bodybuilding and fitness as a new direction for the rehabilitation of veterans

Bodybuilding and fitness open a new vector in the rehabilitation of veterans of Ukraine. This direction combines physical renewal with the strengthening of psychological stability, because sports help not only to develop muscle strength, but also form strength of spirit, self-confidence and support in a circle of like-minded people.

In order to develop this direction, the Ministry of Veteran Affairs of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ukrainian Federation of Bodybuilding, Fitness and Body Fitness (UFBB). The document was signed by the Ministry of Veteran Affairs Natalya Kalmykova and the head of the UFBB Svyatoslav Sheremeta.

The parties agreed to jointly create a safe, inclusive and professional sports environment for veterans and their families.

Among the key directions of cooperation are defined:

• rehabilitation of veterans through bodybuilding and fitness;
• preparation of trainers capable of working with people with combat experience or disability;
• conducting sports events, master classes and competitions;
• creation of conditions for professional self-realization in the sports sphere;
• popularization of a healthy lifestyle in the veteran environment;
• formation of a veteran sports community and a communication platform of mutual support.

The memorandum also provides for information campaigns, development of sports infrastructure and attraction of partners and sponsors to support veteran programs.

This partnership opens up new opportunities for the social integration of Defenders, because sport becomes an effective way to restore physical health, psychological stability and social activity.
